Ready, Set........

It has been a while since I have added an entry on the building project so it is about time for another one.

I have been busy doing the ground work in order for the next leap forward.

The piers are now in place for the deck. They couldn't be added until this point as they would have blocked access for the crane that was needed to lift the big timber trusses.

Soon after the roofing is added I will move the deck sub-floor onto these piers to create our deck area. I am really looking forward to enjoying a beer and a bbq on the deck as a reward.

The roof framing is also now complete. I have had to endure many problems with these big timber trusses. They have put us behind by so many, many months. Finally I believe all the teething problems have been overcome and a big price has been paid. I certainly hope they will repay the frustration they have caused and effort required to make it all right by really adding that element I desire.

So finally we see the project all there awaiting the roofing. Can anyone help me with a prediction of when it might stop raining?

Will it be only during the Christmas builders shut down period??

Christmas Craft with Nana

Nana arrived to help out just in the nick of time. Like any Super Nana she arrived with bags of craft and crafty ideas from magazines that she had kept to keep little hands busy.

This year she had them making Gnomes out of bits of gum tree branches.
The kids are wrapped with them and have turned a piece of rejected fire wood into a gnome tree.

They have been playing with these little creatures for days now! Ignoring the electronic games! Can I actually believe what I am seeing??

Next Super Nana had the Kids sticking sticks into corks and in moments reindeer were created.

Well done Nana and thanks for everything you do!
