snow inside... how can that be?

The plastering has been underway. There is white plaster dust everywhere!

I tried to keep on top of the mess by continually sweeping and removing off cuts and piles of plaster dust.

The tip fees to dispose of the off cuts were a shock.
The sheets went up quickly, the Tradies were pleasant and friendly. Progress could be seen daily and the whole process felt like an instant transformation. The rooms are now clearly defined without the need for any imagination. The furry walls are no longer to be seen.

The MIL also helped out with the Kids and their school trips. Thanks again dear MIL! We really appreciated that extra help.

Now I am actually considering things like paint colour, finishes and water proofing of wet areas.
The whole process has enabled me to finally glimpse what looks like a finish line off in the distance.
There is still a thousand things to do but suddenly a lot of them are concerned with finishing details!

The water proofing of the bathrooms and wet areas is the next thing to happen.

The fur is on the inside!

It has been a very busy time at SVH. We have been flat-out insulating the walls with Earthwool.

This product is made from recycled glass bottles with a very high post consumer component. The wool is user friendly, colour and additive free, insulating, fire resistant and sound absorbing.

All the interior walls have been stuffed full of the Earthwool. There are so many things to do before the plastering. The Little Lady and I have been working into the wee hours on some nights. The ceilings have been done in some places as well. The remaining ceilings will be insulated after the plaster is in place.

I hope this investment will pay for itself in the future when the bedrooms are inhabited by teenagers all playing their own types of music.

The addition of the insulation immediately had an effect as I couldn't hear a conversation once the Little Lady (DW) moved into the next room while talking to me.

I think this fuzzy furry look to the walls is strange but interesting.
